Nu är vi i full gång med förberedelserna inför avresa och praktik. Jag och Ulrika jobbar på vår kommunikation, vi ska ju trots allt leva med varandra i 4,5 månader (vi får se hur det går). Återkommer.

Right now Scandinavians have a unique opportunity to save some of the world’s most beautiful forests, and help the global climate too.
*On the other side of the world, the forests of Tasmania, Australia are under threat*. Not only are they home to species found nowhere else in the world, like the Tassie Devil, they’re also important to our global climate. Recent studies show that these old-growth forests store more carbon per hectare than almost any other in the world1 .
Yet at the moment an Australian company is *felling the trees and dropping napalm on the area, starting huge fires*^2 , to feed a controversial pulp mill that will only be built with Scandinavian help.
Hundreds of thousands of Australians are campaigning against the pulp mill. Thanks to their efforts, every bank in Australia has ruled out financing it. But Swedish bank Nordea is on the verge of approving funding. However, *Nordea relies on retail customers across Scandinavia — so, more than anyone else on earth, Scandinavians have the power to save these trees*. Australians have been fighting hard against this pulp mill, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to run an international advertising campaign targeting potential financial backers.
*Already, fifteen of the world’s leading banks, including all those in Australia, have ruled out financing this pulp mill*. Nordea is one of the only banks still thinking of getting involved in this socially, environmentally and economically destructive mill. In the current economic climate, it just doesn’t make sense.
*Let’s email Nordea, and ask them not to fund the Gunns Pulp Mill in Australia!*

Scandinavia has a proud history of environmentalism and social responsibility. Let’s not allow Nordea to undermine this international reputation by destroying the beautiful forests of Australia.

Det har varit tyst från Kedjereaktion.nu under en tid. Snart är vi dock förhoppningsvis tillbaka med nya, friska tag och tips på sätt och saker att engagera sig i!

Jag tänkte bara passa på att önska en god jul och ett gott nytt år, då jag antar att alla som skriver på hemsidan är sugna på lite julledighet. Jag vill tacka både praktikantkursen och klimatkursen för att hemsidan använts så flitigt under COP15. Jag hoppas på att även 2010 kommer att fylla hemsidan med inspirerade aktioner och intressanta artiklar. Kampanjen ”Tänk på barnen i Afrika” hoppas jag kommer att fortsätta. Jag skall besöka minst tre städer nästa termin och hjälper gärna till med att utsmycka stadskärnorna. De matpaket som hängdes upp i Linköping hänger nästan alla fortfarande kvar!
